Welcome to the Bucci Lab
Overview of Our Research
Our laboratory studies the behavioral and neurobiological factors that regulate learning and memory. We combine behavioral designs that are grounded in sophisticated learning theory with various biochemical, chemogenetic, pharmacological and neuroanatomical techniques. We apply this approach to studying topics such as functional interactions between cortical-hippocampal systems, mechanisms underlying attention and learning, and the development of learning and memory processes. One goal of this research is to further our understanding of the basic mechanisms of information processing in the brain. A second goal is to relate these findings to the biological basis of cognitive dysfunction and mental illness in humans.
